Humic Acid extraction from
Humate aka Lignite or Leonardite
Humate is a natural form of mother nature to correct and revitalize soil, improve soil water holding, and sequester CO2 due to the humic acids and organic matter its holds. Both mentioned elements are essential ingredients to soil fertility. But Humate tends to release these essential elements very slowly, and it may take years to see the effect on soil and plants.
But there is another way to speed up the process a humate to change soil fertility and plant growth healthy. Wet extract Humic Acid
Extracting wet humic acid from lignite is a complex and involved process. However, here’s a general outline for a commercial wet humic acid extraction plan from lignite:
- Lignite Selection: Select a lignite deposit with a high humic acid concentration and low ash content ( 70% of Humic Acid contented as a minimum). This is essential for obtaining a high-quality product.
- Mining and Grinding: Extract lignite from the deposit and grind it to a fine powder. This will increase the surface area of the lignite, making it easier to extract the humic acid.
- Extraction: Soak the lignite in water and agitate it to extract the humic acid. The resulting mixture will be a dark liquid containing humic acid, along with other organic and inorganic compounds.
- Centrifugation: After extraction, centrifuge the mixture to separate the humic acid from the other components.
- Filtration: Filter the humic acid solution to remove any remaining impurities.
- Concentration: Concentrate the humic acid solution by removing the water through evaporation or other means. This will increase the concentration of humic acid in the solution.
- Drying and Packaging: Finally, dry the concentrated humic acid and package it for sale.
This is just a general outline, and the specific details of the extraction process will depend on the specific conditions of the lignite deposit and the desired quality of the humic acid product. It is essential to have a thorough understanding of the chemistry and engineering involved in humic acid extraction to ensure a high-quality, commercial product.
